  • Teaching interests: materials processing and properties, mechanics of solids, heat transfer, fluid flow phenomena, tribology, clean technologies, advanced mathematics for applications, numerical computing, mathematical modeling and computer simulation of deterministic and stochastic systems.

  • Research interests: modeling and analysis of metals processing and manufacturing systems; mathematical modeling and computer simulation of free and moving boundary problems; deterministic and stochastic simulation.

  • Professional experience includes work as visiting professor and visting researcher at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies in Saltillo, Mexico, as guest researcher at the Swedish Institute for Metals Research in Stockholm, Sweden and as a research associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. In addition, I have been continuously active and have accumulated over twenty years of experience as a research consultant in mathematical modeling for several high technology metals/materials production companies.
