Objectives:

The objectives of the Computer Science Conference are:
  1. To provide a forum for the presentation of current work in the broad field of Computer and Information Science;
  2. To transfer the theory, research results and technology of Computer Science from the academic environment to local industry for use in new applications; and
  3. To exchange information across the specialized fields within Computer Science and Engineering. The conference is aimed at a broad audience with diverse interests and experience.

Paper Submission Requirements:

An electronic copy of a proposal should be submitted by October 28, 2005 to:

All submitted proposals/abstracts will be refereed by CIS faculty and judged with respect to relevance, currency and quality. Authors will be notified of acceptance by November 18, 2005 or as soon thereafter as possible.

Sessions Are Being Organized Around the Following Topic Areas:

Fundamental Computer Science Theory of computing and computability, operating systems, programming languages. If you are interested in this area, please discuss your potential topic with Bob LaBarre or Dave Clarke BEFORE the submission deadline.
Software Development and Process Object-oriented software development; modeling, methodologies, and process frameworks; software process assessment improvement; concurrent and real-time systems; metrics and measurement.   Additional thoughts by Houman Younessi.

Human Computer Interaction The characteristics, tools, and performance of various interfaces between people and computing resources. If you are interested in this area, please discuss your potential topic with Roger Grice BEFORE the submission deadline.
System and Software Architecture System topology, client-server architecture, client-server middleware, distribution and distributed objects. If you are interested in this area, please discuss your potential topic with Roger Brown BEFORE the submission deadline.
Data- and Tele-Communications Network management; security, cryptology, and cryptography; Local, Metropolitan, and Wide Area Networks; data- and tele- communication standards and frameworks. Additional thoughts by Roger Brown.

Database and Database Systems Theoretical aspects of databases, data management and data warehousing, database systems and database system development. If you are interested in this area, please discuss your potential topic with Tim Martyn BEFORE the submission deadline.

Web-based Systems and Technologies Web architectures, web engineering, information architecting for the web, approaches to web security, web services, XML and data exchange on the web.
